【サン テミリオン】　Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion	国名：フランス　｛１９９９年文化遺産登録｝
	<Brief Description> Viticulture was introduced to this fertile region of Aquitaine by the Romans, and intensified in the Middle Ages. The Saint-Emilion area benefited from its location on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela and many churches, monasteries and hospices were built there from the 11th century onwards. It was granted the special status of a 'jurisdiction' during the period of English rule in the 12th century. It is an exceptional landscape devoted entirely to wine-growing, with many fine historic monuments in its towns and villages. （UNESCO World Heritage Sites より抜粋）
数あるボルドーワインのなかでも特に名高い銘柄、サンテミリオン。なだらかな丘に連なるブドウ畑の中にぽっかり浮かぶ小さな町サンテミリオンは中世の時代、キリスト教の聖地スペインのサンティアゴ・デ・コンポステーラへの巡礼路として栄えていました。今もそのたたずまいを残す美しい町を包み込むブドウ畑に無数の小さなシャトー（ワイン醸造所）が建ち並ぶ風景は『千のシャトーが建つ丘』ともよばれています。

ボルドー Bordeaux St. Jean 駅から Libourne 駅へ（所要時間約３０分） 、そこからタクシーが一般的（所要時間約１５分）。
